Bertrand Russell's advice to future generations: Text summary of the above video cf.Video Wall

Bertrand Russell's advice to future generations: Text summary

      2 Important things : a. Intellectual, b. moral

a. Intellectual Advice-
When studying any matter or philosophy ask yourself :
-What are the facts?
-What is the truth that the facts bare out (confirm, prove, substantiate)

Never let yourself be diverted by what you wish to believe or what is socially accepted thought.

b. Moral advice:

-Love is wise.
-Hated is foolish.

In this increasingly interconnected world we must put up with the fact that people say things we do not like. We must learn to tollerated each other.

Charity and Tollerance are the values we must continue to cultivate.

10 Predictions for 2009_Online Video and one example of Semantic Processing on online Video,_

Longstanding-long suffering friends at the independent software company Asksam base in Florida drew my attention to the semantic processing in online Video by the company Delve Networks. The example Delve uses is the historical inaugual speeck of Presidend Barack Obama.

As usual on the web one search leads to another.

10 Predictions for Online Video and one example of Semantic Processing of online Video are due to Alex Castro the CEO and co-founder of Delve Networks, a complete end-to-end online video platform providing all the tools needed to publish Internet TV channels and online video.

Castro undelines such technological advances and innovations in online video as:
- the introduction of semantic processing,
-video hosting solutions, SaaS-Software as a Service
- monetization of video content.
And claims that it’s obvious that things have progressed from beyond "just" YouTube.
To be brief I have listed Alex's 10 Predictions eliminating comments. (Unpretentiously Alex invites interested readers-viewers to Add their own predictions to the comments below.)

1. Record year for video content consumption2. YouTube loses market share as market fragments.
2. YouTube loses market share as market fragments
3. Advertiser dollars will shift to more measurable and targeted online video
Traditional ad dollars will continue to migrate online as advertisers seek to ensure the most impact for their advertising dollars in these difficult economic times. The availability of detailed data about the performance of their ads and the viewers and customers who interact with them makes web video an extremely attractive medium for advertisers. (note for AdSense user)

4. Video monetization becomes reality – or at least starts to!

Professionally-produced content, targeted to specific audiences, will see a burst of excitement as advertisers will see this as a safe bet to put their money on. In response to the influx of advertising dollars, video publishers will need scalable platforms with a wide range of performance metrics.

Also, sites that offer a player with more “bells and whistles,” (end-user branding, video tagging, semantic widgets, etc.) will win out as viewers become more engaged and watch longer.

5. On-demand video platforms gain as the economy slumps.

6. Semantic web technologies emerge and prosper.

7. Syndication of content.

8. Small businesses embrace video advertising.

Back in 2001, small and medium sized businesses began to embrace search advertising. It was a way for them to grow their business in a tough environment, while making sure they had measurable results for their advertising spends. As companies deal with the worst of the recession in 2009, they will have to work even harder to be noticed by customers. Video advertising using self-service tools like Jivox, will be embraced by small and medium sized businesses looking to stand out.

9. Mobile video finally breaks out.

10. Barack Obama reinvents the fireside chat.

Hair-raiser II - JM Jancovici Conf. on Human influence on Climate Change - Translation(TBD=To Be Done)

My previous (first) post brought the hair-raising group "Above-All-Else" to your attention. My readers are most probably not their usual fans

Here I shall continue with another "Hair-Raiser" despite the now classical title of the video subject - "Human role in Climate Change" - basic to any serious, global, prospective-foresight or road-mapping work, I humbly surmise. The Video Conference link to the "Not sufficiently well-known french climatologue, and somewhat irreverent "no-holds-barred", Jean-Marc Jancovici, will be given below. The conference was given in the equally highly unusual "almost hair raising-if not amongst a somewhat bald or grey haired congregational setting of the Roman Catholic Church Annual Gatherings, Sydney and Canberra, Australia of all places are mentionned. The video is due to french TV2 programme "Le Jour du Seigneur-Semaines Sociales"_"The day of the Lord-Social Weeks" is in french and the sound quality poor - Jean-Marc had a slight throat cold. Nevertheless, I'll translate the main points in his post as soon as possible - both good for students of the french language and for my translation and sumarising powers.
